The Journey

Sean's cancer battle began in March of 2023 when, at the age of 36, he was diagnosed with a rare, malicious brain tumor called a histone mutated glioma (DMG). He quickly went from his normal, active self to the tumor affecting his vision as well as his ability to walk and talk.

From there, he would undergo a brain biopsy, 26 radiation treatments, countless MRIs and many follow up appointments with various specialists. When it was clear his tumor needed even further aggressive treatment, he traveled to and from San Francisco to get clinical trial medications and eventually underwent a gamma knife radiation procedure at the U of M.

Through it all, Sean remained determined, positive and focused on beating this brain cancer diagnosis. He didn't leave any stone unturned during this fight; searching out experts in the field and tirelessly researching each and every treatment option available. In order to provide for his family, he continued to work as Director of Finance until he was physically unable to do so.

He truly was the best husband to Halley and father to Sloane (5) and Blake (2). He passed with family surrounding him on December 5th, 2023, less than a year after his diagnosis.

Moving Forward Together

Our family has been blessed with an incredible village — surrounding us with love, prayers, meals, and financial assistance to help decrease the burden of such a devastating diagnosis and loss. We miss Sean every single day, and we know he would want us to keep moving forward and help others along the way.

Please join us in continuing this fight against brain cancer and helping families affected by it. Together we can make a difference.
